Lie, Lie Again by Stacy Wise Book Review

A book on top of a tote bag. The book is a pink paperback book cover.

Book Synopsis

A dark comedy, suspenseful, story about three women who are neighbors that all have secrets within their personal lives. You meet Sylvia, Riki, and Embry, and discover their intertwining friendship and drama that connect within their lives. Each is dealing with their own struggles; love, revenge, trust, and of course, lies. The biggest secret they have to keep to themselves is about a body at the bottom of their apartment building's staircase. Who is it and how did the body get there?

Book Review

What a crazy ride! I was hooked right from the start because the book begins with an "after" introduction for the reader to learn about the mysterious body. Then, the story starts with what happened "before" the incident leading up to it. I completely forgot about the body until I started questioning when is it going to appear so that kind of took too long for me, but I was too invested in the story and immersed in the writing to give up. If you love Big Little Lies, this reminded me of it a lot! Sylvia's character is so direct and hilarious, always one step ahead; she reminded me of Samantha from Sex and the City, which is where the dark humor comes into play. I found myself laughing and was shocked more and more after every chapter. It's definitely a great, fun story to read! It's also more of a suspenseful story instead of a thriller and I still enjoyed it!
