Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren Book Review

This is the second Christina Lauren book I've read and I loved it so much! It was the perfect pick for my Valentine's Day read. A book about two childhood friends who fall in love with each other and have an infatuation with reading and words? I'm in! The story is heartfelt and sad combined with the perfect amount of spice and love. Macy and Elliot's relationship is adorable and their story of how they become friends to lovers is emotional and sincere. Friends to lovers are my favorite trope when it comes to romance books and this author did not disappoint! I absolutely loved it and Elliot is officially my second book boyfriend, haha!

The writing style of this book is a first-person narrative from Macy's point of view told between alternating timelines of her past and present friendship with Elliot. You learn about both of their lives from when they meet and it felt like I was watching them grow up while reading. Even though it is told from Macy's perspective, the authors' did a great job expressing Elliot's side of the story too! (Fun fact- I had no idea Christina Lauren are two best friends who combined their names to write stories together!) I am definitely adding more of their books to my list and collection of favorite authors!

"Limerence. There's no other word like it: the state of being infatuated with another person."

- Christina Lauren, "Love and Other Words"

I recommend this book to those who enjoy the romance genre and a great introduction to this author. I discovered Christina Lauren all over TikTok and Instagram, and I can see why this book specifically is one of the most popular and highly recommended!
